my father was shot down over china during wwII , he was hidden by the chinees from the japaneese. are there any records on these places or people.

Not sure about records, sorry. But yes the Chinese did help our pilots during WWII. The Flying Tigers are a great example too. On their jackets they wore a well known patch (or a "blood chit") on the back that translated to, “This foreign person has come to China to help in the war effort. Soldiers and civilians, one and all, should rescue, protect, and provide him medical care.”

Sure. The AVG (Flying Tigers) were there before the official entry of the U.S. into the war, and the planes from Doolittle's raid flew on to China, with many crash-landing and being assisted by the local population. These are perhaps the two best-known examples.

was your dad involved in the "Doolittle raid" on Tokyo?

see the book "30 seconds over Tokyo" for one raid memeber's account as well hs his rescue by chinese forces.
