I'm not sure. I have 2 cats and they seem indifferent to music. However, when I go to the animal shelter there's always a radio on which is usually set to the rock station. It makes me laugh to think that the cats might be enjoying rock n' roll. Who knows.

I have a cat that I think might be hearing impaired. He is all white with blue eyes. He lets me vacuum him with the vacuum clearner. Either he likes really loud rock music or he can't hear it or doesn't care either way. He likes to sleep on my desk under my lamp, right next to be Bose subwoofer on one side and a speaker on the other. I was playing just regular music and then I changed to playing AC/DC really loud, he acted like he didn't even notice. Maybe he is just the most laid back cat in the world. My other two cats don't like rock music much. They put their ears back like its hurting their ears.

That's adorable! Mine dont seem to mind music either. In fact, my 7 year old still LOVES Tori Amos--you know, with that high pitched voice and all...
And the kittens are not at all affected wrongly by my Buzz Balads or hard rock. Even loud. I was surprised. I wouldn't say they like the music, like yours does, however. Cats are so unique...
I like to dance with mine too!!

When we turn on our 50's & 60's music to listen to, our cat comes out to join us. Last night she stretched out on the couch, all relaxed, like she absolutely loved it. Never had a cat who liked music before. They would seem to be agitated at the 'noise' and would meow.

If you're turning your music up really loudly, your cat may be walking up to you and meowing for you to turn it down. Cats have very sensitive ears, much like a dog. Try giving your cat the "whistle test" by sitting across the room and whistling at a high steady pitch for about 15 seconds. If he comes running or meowing to you, it's probably hurting his ears, asking you nicely to turn it down before you both go deaf.

Believe it or not my cat enjoys piano music, classical and ambience music. If he meows alot, I just turned those kind of music, and he will either sit calmly or snooze

I haven't noticed my cat liking music. But one day I left the visualizations on Media Player running and she sat still (which is unbelievable in her case) and focused on it for about half an hour.

My cat loves music too, but not rock, he likes tango, fados, artistic greek music (Hatzidakis), etc. He just loves it. I used to sing this sort of songs to him when he was a baby to go to sleep, I don't know if that's why.
