I am getting my belly button pierced 4 christmas (my big sister is taking me) [ i am also on the young side... {1 to the ummm 2} ] So anyways... please tell me EVERYTHING you know,,, PLEASE DONT IGNORE THIS! i really need your tips! my mom got it done n she is 40... my big sis got it done n she is 20. They both said it hurt 0% so pelase tell me your evperiences or any tips pelase!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say i think youre a little young for it but i got my cartilage on the top of my ear pierced when i was 12, BUT my mom did make me wait till i was 16(maybe 15) to get my belly button pierced. I cant really say it isnt going to hurt you. Different people have a different tolerance to pain. For me its like the few hours and a day or so after some piercings that hurts not the actual piercing. I think the clamp they use hurts more than the needle, i actually started giggling like crazy when he pierced it (im weird i know). If youre too scared or too worried then just dont do it, youre not ready, but if you think you can handle the pain, which isnt much, and really know you want it then go for it. TAKE CARE OF IT! they can get infected sooooo easily. if something happens and it does get infected do everything you can to help it clear up as fast as possible! not to scare you but i know someone whos belly rejected it and their belly button basically rotted off, and a few others who had to take it out because of infection... so just think about all the factors before you do this.
and remember you can always take it out. good luck dear.

1. Your sister cannot legally sign for you to have it done. It has to be a PARENT. (At least at a DECENT shop.) And if they do let your sister sign for you, chances are that they don't follow the rules anyway and you might end up with a nice infection or disease along with your KEWL new piercing. K?
2. If you're 12, you obviously aren't done growing (and are rather immature), so even if you do get your belly button pierced, the piercing will most likely migrate (a.k.a. "grow out") as your body keeps growing, and you'll either end up with a nice scar there, or a messed up piercing.
So, no, I will not disregard your age.
The rules and laws are there for a reason. Mostly, they're there to keep you from doing something like this that will probably end up messed up somehow, and then you'll have to go back to them and ask them to fix it... and I'm sure that's not what they want.
Wait until you're at LEAST 16.
Or, totally blow off my answer, which you probably will do, and get it done.
But we don't want to hear about it later.

You're 12? wow. i got mine the day i turned 18. haha. well, i won't lie to you kid, it does hurt. but it's not a lasting pain so don't worry. It will; however, be sore for like a week or so. Make sure you take REALLY good care of it as that area is naturally dirty and infections can occur easily. I was able to sleep on my stomach the same day i got it, so it isn't THAT bad. After you get it, wear clothes that are more loose around your piercing because you don't want moisture to be trapped there. And yes, no one's stomach is dry all the time! And oh yea, watch out for your jeans..make sure it's low enough to not tug on your belly ring.

Yep, it hurts. I actually enjoyed getting tattooed over getting my belly button pierced. If you wash it just like they tell you to you shouldn't get infected. I washed mine 3 times a day with water and sea salt. I would fill up a cup with the solution, lean over the cup so it was touching my belly then sit down and let it soak for a while. I've had it done for 7 years, and no problems here.

I have my belly done...Although im 16.. SOme places wont touch kids your age. It didnt really hurt me that bad....Also, You have to think because different people have different pain tolerances. Also, when you do get it done and if they give you that ocean Spray stuff.. DONT use it...My friends got infected because she used it. All you have to use is antibacterial soap and MAKE SURE you do everything they say...and if they tell you not to do something DONT DO IT! Also, wait 6 weeks to change the bar! Thats all i cant tell you!

no matter what age you are (as long as your a minor) they will not let your sissy sign for you. A navel piercing is one of the hardest and slowest healing piercings to heal. because they are surface piercings. since your 12 you probably just started puberty and you do not realize that you are STILL GROWING and you piercing will most probably migrate/grow out. Most respectable piercers won't even pierce a navel until you are 16, and since you wont listen to me anyways, go to a good piercer and have one of your parents sign for you because your sister cant do it.
PS: if you wanted people to disregard your age, you shouldn't have put it.

okay A. you are way too young B. a belly button piercing is the most dangerous piercing you can possibly get on your body and C. it hurts like a ***** even if your mom and sister say it doesn't

Well I've gotten a few piercings myself. I have my belly button pierced, my nose pierced and I recently double pierced my ears. Trust me, It doesnt hurt. I remember when I was laying down waiting for a hard pinch and a flood of blood. I closed my eyes and I was nervous and scared to see blood, but when I opened my eyes, I already had the stud on me. No blood, no pain. It's totally fast, pain-free and blood-free. It didnt hurt at all. Try having your nose pierced...that does hurt!!! Go for it. You wont regret it plus its the cutes thing right now.

Two friends of mine had it done and both said it hurt a lot and one got a very bad infection that took a long time to clear up. I really don't think you should do it. I think you'll regret it.
