You can cook spaghetti in the microwave as I have done it before.
What I did was you have to get the water hot first...that is the important step. Do not put the spaghetti in the water until the water is hot. After the water is hot, put some oil in the hot water, then break up your spaghetti, put it in the hot water, cook for about 20 minutes, check for tenderness, if not tender enough, continue cooking for awhile longer. When done, drain off water, and finish with what ever you want to do with it.

Put it in a microwave-safe dish with a sturdy bottom.

Measure in the noodles and a bit of butter.

Add water.

Microwave for 12-15 minutes (but no longer), then stir. Shut the door again and let it sit for about another 5. If it's not done yet (it should be, though), let it sit until it is. If the water cools down and it's still not done, start over again ... microwave just long enough to get hot (usually about 3-5 minutes) and let it sit with the door shut again.

I guess you can put in a microwavable dish and fill it with water and put in the microwave on low- medium heat for 10 minutes, roughly should be long enough....
