It doesn't suprise me at all. My husband worked for IBP before Tyson bought them out and told me how evry so many months the company would have south of the border runs-sending buses down to Mexico to get cheaper workers. They would stay until someone told them how much they should be making and then when they complained they were fired.

Well, the company is saying they used the govt pilot program to check id's and it let them down. Who knows? But my understanding of the pilot program is that when you enter it you only screen NEW employees (at least that was what Dunkin Donuts agreed to) so I don't see how it can catch preexisting employees.
I think the fact that they tried to get an injunction to stop the raid shows they were pretty sure they were employing a LOT of illegals. I am also pretty sure that from the way stock in the meat processing industry dropped, that other companies pretty well know they are doing it, too.

A lot of people are the blame for this. The Companies that hire them and the illegal that take the work using false documents and the politicians that do not let Border Patrol do their raids or their jobs. And the pro Illegals that help them get the jobs also lets not forget the pro amnesty people. They also help the underground movement of illegals. into this county by hiding them and getting the false documents and then helping them get jobs and housing and free medicare, free food stamps, free education. Tell me how some dumb azz hick from Mexico that can not speak English get all of the benefits. Some one has to help them

It tells me the company was aware of their status too, and chose to save big bucks by hiring them at pathetically low wages.
Best thing to do is stop buying their food and buy from companies who hire citizens of the US to work here. The companies who do this, and the politicians who allow the big bucks lawbreakers to go unprosecuted and more at fault here than the illegals, in my opinion.
They are profiting and refusing to pay Americans a fair wage. They certainly don't deserve to make profits and they deserve very heavy fines for this crime. And they need to stop hiring illegals, period.
They claim they don't know; but they do.

My husband told me today that they had laid off 400 several weeks ago. They must have thought something was about to come down...the 400 were the ones with criminal backgrounds...the ones that would have totally cooked "their goose" and they (owners and management) would have been arrested....wonder where the 400 are? Probably at the welfare office collecting our tax dollars.

That's a shame for all Americans that are pro illegals and especially the US government that is letting all of this to take place just to conformed the American corporations. We have to ask the US government what is it going to do with this matter that is hurting the American workers. Do you know that the Democratic/Liberals and their leaders are going to give all of these illegal aliens amnesty, doubling the problems for the Americans. Do you know that the American workers can't compete with these illegal aliens for those jobs because of the reductions in wages cause by the illegals. Do you think that the government is not part of these conspiracy,, I do..

OK I understand where you are coming from, but let us review something that the border patrol missed. The illegals and legals where working in a meat packing facility right? OK and they say that Illegals stole their identities, and they where working these SS# in the same packing facility? how in Gods name did these people get these ID's and work with them, and the boss never knew they where stolen. Kinda suspicious don't you think?
Nobody can report to Uncle Sam the same SS# more than once from one job site. I think all those haters out there just wanted to cause more trouble than necessary. I mean even I can come up with a stupid idea like that.
the truth of it all is that they wanted to frame the illegals. no matter what the cost.

It tells me that for ten years many citizens were being denied employment by this company. It tells me that identity theft by illegals is a much bigger problem than most people knew. It also tells me that many more raids are needed to protect our citizens from the problems caused by illegal aliens.

Did you know that they were illegal and broke the law? Education in America is at an all time low, people are having problems with their reading comprehension. Hahaha (learn to read)

doesn't make it right, they should have went through the proper channels. every country in the world has immigration laws, why does the U.S. get put down for enforcing them? i would love to pack up and just move to another country, but i can't they would stop me. why, to check and see if i had permission to stay/work there. it's a simple law, i don't understand were the confusion is coming in.
