MS word will only sort the numbers in ascending or decending order this is not useful to me

You can have excell or Access do that for you. Addresses are handeled better by databases.

You have to set up the word database so that the street number is in a separate field from the street name. Then sort it by name. That way the streets will be listed alphabetically.

You'll have the same issue if you use Excel.
