Abraham was going to do exactly as God had told him to do.

His faith was at an all time high and he knew that God would provide a good outcome no matter what happened.

Abraham was told to bring Isaac along as a sacrifice, and he did as he was told. He knew that even if he ultimately had to slay the young boy, God would provide a way for his promise to still be able to come true. Most likely, he thought that God would bring the young lad back to life.

Abraham was very relieved when God told him to stop right before he was to sacrifice Isaac, but he would have followed through with it. It seems that God did this not for his own benefit, but to let Abraham see just how much he really did trust God for everything in his life.

The worship that you speak of was done after the sacrifice of the Ram caught in the thorns. They stayed up on the mountain and prayed and praised God for all that he has done, was doing and was yet to do. Not written in Gods word, but very much likely, Abraham thanked God for allowing Isaac to stay with him.

"worship" is an act of sacrifice. Abraham went to the sacrifice Isaac on the Mt. yet, did he really think God would ask him to slay his own son?

he told the men that so they wouldn't try to stop him when he tried to kill isaac. he was going to kill isaac because God told him to, but didn't when God stopped him at the last minute. god only told abraham to kill isaac in the first pace to see if he would obey Him.

He was prepared to break a commandment and KILL! KILL! KILL! But it's okay because it was in the name of Yaweh. Or God. Something like that.
