I am looking for a good recipe for cheese fries with bacon and green onions. I tried to make them before and they didn't turn out so good. I cooked the fries a few minutes less then they recommended and then I added shredded cheese, already cooked and crumbled bacon and some scallions. Then I let it cook for 5 minutes. Now I have read that you should broil it after you add the toppings but I don't know how to do that. Do I just put it on a high temperature and move the oven rack up? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

In electric ovens, broiling/grilling is accomplished by placing the food near the upper heating element, with the lower heating element off and the oven door partially open. Gas ovens often have a separate compartment for broiling, as a drawer below the flame.
Most ovens have a "broil" setting which is the highest setting.
Move your rack if necessary to achieve this.
To broil is to cook from above. Typically 4 - 6" from the heat source.
