It would seem glycerin is a bonus... but if it truly were, there wouldn't be hand creams made "without glycerin." What are the negatives?

Nothing. Glycerin (Glycerol) is just a type of fat. "Without glycerin" means that is less oily than the one with it.

I heard many people are allergic to glycerin. But if you're not allergic than glycerin is really good for your skin.
