I don't have any personal experience but I suspected it must be a genetic thing b/c my g'ma told me of a relative that fought it for forty years-even got married. I'm not sure if he ever 'came out' or died but everyone suspected he was.
But, just look at 'Redneck_Babygirl...'s' answer. Now, 1000 years ago, 90% of the population believed the world was flat, so I can't use popular opinion to defend whether homosexuality is genetic,...But we've made a few discoveries since then and, regardless of all the brainwashing through the years, there have always been homosexual people. But, unfortunately, there have always been people in denial :-(

I believed I was gay for awhile. I didn't specifically choose that, but I don't for a second believe I was born that way . I believe that some of my own choices from as young as 5 and some of my parents' choices, and some of my peers choices led me to that place.
I chose to believe a suggestion that I might be gay because I was a tomboy and dressed like a boy. I had been asked it a lot in HS, and then in college I had a strange feeling toward a girl on my softball team. The suggestion kicked in and I started to believe it, to my horror. Other things like not trusting men because my father left us for another woman.... They all just compiled and helped me to believe this lie that had been planted in my head.
I struggled for 8 years in a hellish life. I finally found truth and began to battle against all these lies I'd believed. Today I am free and attracted to men finally. :) Praise God!

Being gay is a choice.
It is a choice the brain makes. If it likes it then endorphins are released which is the pleasure in the brain system.
If you didn't like it it would not do so.
It works the same as alcohol, cigarettes and food.
You like some things but hate others.
With this unique device in our heads, it determines our course in life.
Hence the choice to like or dislike.
People want to make it an emotional issue because that is how it makes them feel.
There was a gay scientist in the late 80's that did the study and proved it. He was soundly thrashed for his work called a liar,(he proved it on himself)and he also found it is treatable.
Psychology.

I do believe that some people have gay tendencies that they are born with. I also believe that some are born with natures contrary to what's traditionally accepted for their gender in their culture: I mean, for example, sensitive, artistic men, and strong, aggressive, athletic women. Such "gender-benders" might find acceptance only in the gay community. Some love sex with anything that moves, and some things that don't move. Others may choose the gay lifestyle for reasons that have nothing to do with their natural bent. For example, I read a story about a college man who chose to have sex with men because it was easier to get sex from men than from women.
Therefore, I don't believe that everyone who practices homosexuality was born gay.

People ar born gay, they have no choice in the matter. It is not wrong to be gay, the idea of it being a sin to love someone the same sex as yourself is ridiculous.

The people I know that are gay, have always been that way. I wonder then why does God condemn them? If He made them that way? I don't understand at all. I just know, we are ALL God's children and He loves us all and so should we. I have a question...which would you rather live next door to, a gay person or a crack addict? (or a thief)...I think it is wrong to pretend you are something you are not...that is a lie and God hates lairs. (He doesn't hate the person, he hates the lie) I guess we will all find out when we get there.

No. And I can't exactly tell that to the dozens of ex-homosexuals I know and work with in ministry. Believe me, they know better!! as does the dear sister who posted above me.
That article proves nothing.

Shalom Shallow,
Your are indeed correct, these men where born gay and it was not their choice but it was the will of God. Or as Apostle Paul has given:
"Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it,Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonor? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory" (Rom. 9:20-23).
These men where born gay by the laws of God. Just like when the disciples of Yeshua asked what sin did this man commit to be born blind, Yeshua answered them for the works of God to be revealed. Or in other words for the individual to be able to evolve into completion. They were born gay because of laws they invoked prior to entering into this life. Many have asked for their gayness to be lifted from them many times but it has not, for they must be bound under that law until they paid every last penny.
There is no one who chooses to be gay. To think so is in error, a five year old doesn't choose his sexual preference. A person in general who is religious doesn't not sit there and say I'm going to be gay despite my religion telling me its forbidden. It is the laws of God why these men were born the way they were. And unless Christians come to understand the pre-existing soul self and how your conditions are preordained then they will always fall short of understanding why things are the way they are.
Peace
Aza

Your not born being gay, you chose it. It's really stupid to think your born that way. I had an arguement with a guy one time, and every time he tried to prove that people are born gay, he kept proving that they arn't. Science can't prove it, so don't say that it has. We don't understand the simpilist life forms, so how can we even understand ourselves? And what about gay men and women who are now straight?
