I am trying to figure out how to make cheese fries and all the recipes say to add the toppings and broil for a few minutes. I have an electric oven but it doesn't have a broiler. I wasn't sure if I move the rack up to the top spot if that will work.

Obviously I don't do much cooking, so I don't know about this stuff. I just know when I was younger we had a broiler drawer and so I guess we had a gas stove. Electric ovens don't have a drawer for broiling, right?

if the element is on top inside the oven you can move the rack up as high as it will go and use it like that, but if it's on the bottom of the oven, no, it won't work.

A place I used to live in had a stove that broiled from the bottom. That is the only stove I've seen that way.

i have an electric oven and if you put it on 500 degrees it should "broil" your cheese fries, but make you keep the door open alittle bit.

yes, what the first 2 said. Ignore what the last guy said. Move the rack up- increase temp to 500 should do it!! Yum-o! Enjoy!
