Most the hypothetical questions you are referring to are asked rhetorically, just to attempt to make an insulting point. They don't deserve notice, and I don't give them any.

what does it matter about hypothetical questions, you either get an answer that plausibly may or may not happen based on a scenario that may or may not happen,more often than not the scenario will not happen. most cases people can only say what they would do being in a rational state of mind, when some scenarios are based on crisis and snap decisions. how would it be a sin as it is only opinion?

Maybe because those hypothetical questions are either trick questions, or tainted with patronizing attitudes.
