It's normal. Your first periods are going to be very irregular and unpredictable. Nothing to worry about. Mine are just NOW getting regular and I have had mine for years.

I have always had a irregular period since I was 13 yrs old. I was diagnosed with PCOS poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I am by no means saying thats what you have. What I do know is that when long ladies start to get their periods it sometimes takes a few yrs for them to get regulated. If you are worried about your menstrual cycle I high suggest you ask you mom to take you to the GYN or Gynicologists. You can even ask your mom have make an appointment with a female DR if it will make you feel more at rest about seeing a GYN. I wish you the best. GL tc

don't get worried. this is VERY common. when i first started, it was only a few days long, then i didn't have one for a while. it is practically normal. most girls start this way. i was worried too, stuff is changeing and life gets tougher at your age, but no fear, all of us girls go though it! it is nothing to worrie about. just make sure you have a tampon or pad with you, in your purse of something when you are at school and stuff, cuz you won't know when you'll start again! that's all i know. but it is fine. if when you turn like 15 or 16 and still haven't had another one, then talk to a doctor or a nurse. but until then you are fine! good luck!!!
ps. if anyone one tell you that you are too young for peirods, don't worrie i was almost 11 when i had my first!

I did that my first time, too. I had one, then didn't have another for 2 months, then it started coming every month.

Once you do start your monthly cycle, it's a good idea to start going to a gynecologist for a pap smear every year. You can ask your doctor if everything's ok when you go in for your appointment.

No need to be nervous for the appointment; it's not painful. Not exactly fun, but more on the awkward and uncomfy side of things than pain. :)

first off, congrats!!!!! secondly, this is very normal. periods don't become regular (28 day cycle) for most girls for at least one whole year. you might not even get another one for a couple of months. on the other hand, take me for instance, my period started 2 weeks before my 12th birthday and it was regular from day one. still is. (i'm 31, by the way.)

anyhow, you should discuss this w/ your mother. she'll tell you everything you need to know. if that's not a possibility, talk to an older sister, or your grandma, or even an aunt. still no luck? talk to your pediatrician. no? then do some research on the web, go here>>>>>

To start off you will probably be irregular. It is only the first one.As time goes on they will be more regular. Do not worry. It It takes awhile for your body to become adjusted to periods. Can you talk to your mum or an older sister or an auntyor a female doctor?

You are a little young to be starting a period. It will come, trust me. Tell your parents to contact the doctor for you to be tested. I started mine when I was 7 years old and saw the doctor at that time. I restarted when I was 14 yrs. old. See the doctor!

If you haven't had sex, then don't worry about it. When you first start your period it can be irregular. You might skip a month completely and just start up again the folowing month. It can take up to a year before your cycles become more regular.

VERY normal. I wouldn't worry to much and if you are worried about it, than talk to your Mom or Dad or someone you trust and have them take you to the ob/gyn! It's a harmless appointment! Or look on google!

It probably wasn't your period. Or your bodies hormones are still adjusting. In quite a few cases, when a girl is playing sports or having fun she accidentlaly tears her hyman which bleeds then it looks like she's having her period.
