We've stayed friends, and we talk an awful lot together. But this guy she's been dating is a piece of trash. Doesn't pay attention to her, is mean to her, generally not any fun to be around, and I really wouldn't be suprised if her cheats on her. She's an awesome girl, and she deserves a lot better than him. She's miserable with this A$$hole. I've told her to find a guy that treats her better, the problem is she's not the strongest, and I think that she's just afraid to be alone. What do I tell her? Anyone been in her spot before that can tell me what to say to talk some sense into her?

Go on double dates, and see how he acts, if it really is bad then talk to him. If he doesnt change and show some respect help your friend find a new better guy!

Man you can say all you want, but trust me. It is going to be her decision in the end, no matter what you or anybody else says to her. Let he know you are there for her though, cause if she does leave this guy, and he sounds a bit unstable, she is going to need someone to cry too. Also make sure you tell you current girlfriend everything, don't leave her in the dark. That is how rumors get started.

Blunt truth is what she needs. Tell her that if her decision is going to be to stay with this guy then this is the type of treatment she is going to continue to get. He isn't going to change so if she doesn't like the way she is being treated then she needs to get away from him. At some point she has to realize that after a certain point its her problem for sticking around and taking it.

Any thing you tell her will give her the impression that you still care for her. Do you want to start that? She obviously stills needs you.

Its her problem, leave her alone, more involvement may bring your own relationship in trouble
