Thirty years old And still longing to find
The girl of my dreams The one that is mine
I've been to the parties, The bars and the parks
I've given my money, My time and my heart
I thought it was this one, Or that one, or her
But then after all, I wasn't so sure
So where is this angel That God sent for me
The one that they said I'd know when we meet
Did I miss her, did I know her, Is fate really true
Or did he forget mine When he sent one to you
Or maybe she's coming A little bit late
Maybe awaiting The appropriate date
So what do I do Just wait til I'm old
Sleep in this bed All my life all alone
Or do I just settle for For the first pretty girl
That smiles real big When I give her a twirl
A cozy warm bed Seems easier to me
Even though she's not quite Who I thought she would be
It all seems so hard, I can't get it straight
I'm tired of waiting For the hands of fate
I guess the stars know more than I'll ever see
I guess I'll just leave it to the powers that be

A deep i can not reach.

I was 13 when I wrote that and I have won about 16 awards with it from all over the state and through the school systems. I even got into Poetry.com's poetry book that they make with the best fo the best poems from thier site every year.

To begin, from reading your smarmy scribblings I would suggest you not quit your day job. But to answer your question, anything anyone writes immediately becomes their copyright. The thing is, if someone contests your copyright it helps to have proof of priority. This can be done by having a notary public timestamp your document. Or you can webpublish it. Proof of priority is the only thing that counts.

kidding...but if you really wanna know look for copywriters in your area...and in the future don't post your work on the net unless you already have the copyright. anyone can now beat you to it and make it there's and you got nothing!!
