Matthew 7:22 (NEB) "Many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out devils in your name, and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them to their face, 'I never knew you; out of my sight, you and your wicked ways!'"

Isaiah 57:1-5 (NIV) "The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. When discussing Wicca, the Bible is not relevant. The majority of Wiccans do not believe in the Bible as a source of spiritual guidance or information. If a person does not accept the Bible as a valid source of information, quoting the Bible to them is not going to help your cause.

Most Wiccans, especially older ones, went through a lot of soul-searching before they chose their religion. For many of us that includes analyzing Christianity and the Bible. We are the ones who dare to ask, "WHY should I believe this?" And do you know what answer we are given?

"You must believe in the Bible because it says so... in the Bible." Realizing how silly that sounds, the person usually adds, "And the Bible is the word of God."

And we ask, "How do you know?"

And the answer: "...Because it says so. In the Bible." End of conversation.

By that logic we understand that any one of us can sit down and write our OWN Bible and it would be equally valid. Some of us do just that.

It is sad to me that so many Christians choose to use their holy book to find ways to hurt others, rather than take its peaceful wisdom and leave the rest to rot away, as it should.

Anyway. There are people who call themselves Christian Wiccans. Semantics aside, it's really no one's business. If they think they can pull that off, it's fine by me. I want no part of the angry Christian God and his vindictive followers.

Wiccans can not be Christian, and Christians can not be Wiccan. It is an oxymoron.

Wicca is a polytheistic religion, Christianity is a monotheistic religion. Because the Christian God states that when you are part of his covenant you worship him and him alone, you can not be polytheistic. So the two religions can not be combined together.

If someone comes to you and offers you their religion as Christian and whatever hyphenated after it, be assured they are a Christian trying to cover some bases, not the after thought they tacked onto their name.

1. Preaching does nothing.

2. A person can be Wiccan and not be a witch. You need to grow up and open your eyes. There's a wide world around you beyond your tiny little book.
