I usually give my teachers a gift certificate to something they like. If I see they are into a certain store, like Target or Macy's or Starbuck, I will get them a card. Very easy, and they love them!

However, don't buy a gift card for a teacher to something they would never use. For example, a gift certificate to Abercrombie wouldn't be a good idea for a football coach...

Gift cards are always a good idea. Apple anything. Ornaments that say "A+ teacher" are good too!Be careful with candles and perfumes -- we all like different fragrances. And some of us are trying to get our figure back so chocolates might not be the best idea. The best thing for your teacher will depend on the teacher. Gift cards are good because then the teacher can pick their own gift.

I agree if you buy a gift card make sure it is to someplace your teacher would like. About the Coffee mugs -- not everyone drinks coffee even hot chocolate -- again make sure you chose your gift based on the teacher.

I gave my sons preschool teachers a gift that him and I made together. Last year he made handprints with ink and since he was just starting to write his name he signed it himself. We made a frame and it made a very nice personal gift that cost me nothing and my son was so proud of it. It might not sound like much but if you put a little creativity into it Guranteed it will be cherished for many years by your little ones teacher. His teacher hung in in the class and she said it will stay there until she retires and takes it home.

I am a preschool teacher and I have a million mugs, ornaments, etc... I love when I get a gift card to a discount store or teacher store, that helps me not to spend so much of my own money on school stuff.

My favorite (and so far 3 years worth of pre k happy teachers, 2 kids 2 years each) I go to kohls and buy the kohls cares book and the stuffed animal that matches the book, so the teacher has a special book to share with the class.

Hi..I am working in a preschool as an assistant teacher. I have received many gift from my beloved students. Usually they would give us candles, perfumes, picture frame(with the child photo attached). Those were greatly appreciated by most teachers. Most of all, we really loves receiving greeting card which has been done by the kids. Good luck in finding one!

My parents always got my teachers coffee mugs. They're inexpensive and it's something that they'll actually use.
