Rodzilla - That is a big part of the reason corporations like them, they help keep overhead costs low, but I have also seen it stated that the reduction in overhead is not being trickled down to the consumer.

Mendi8a - You are using a source that is quoting the PEW hispanic center. Try a neutral source next time.

I find it odd, that the only source that is shown, is questionable, yet still mentions that illegal aliens do damage the economy.

No but here is a quick link that illustrates just how much they are costing the American Taxpayer. Remember, for all of you that are not citizens, in the US we are the government. http://www.rense.com/general56/illegalimmigrantscost.htm (this article is 2 years old, the cost has more than doubled since it was written.

Nineteen hospitals in Southern CA alone have been forced to close their doors (bankruptcy) because of the huge burdens placed on them by illegal aliens flooding in for medical treatment (mostly prenatal) and then disappearing without paying even one dime. Oh, so you didn’t know that hospitals were businesses?

Nothing is really free in the land of Milk and Honey and if you take without paying your share, others must pay for you.

very solid element. learn say that if farmworkers have been paid wages above poverty point right here (a advance of 40%) an conventional relatives of four could pay $10 extra a 300 and sixty 5 days for produce. We pay a heck of plenty extra subsidizing centers of individuals on poverty point wages. i've got been to Canada often, and mutually as i spotted the rotten substitute fee this final summer season, you're top that the fees are enormously plenty comparable to right here.

It is doubtful that anyone would disagree with the fact that illegal immigrants, by virtue of their working for low wages, boost corporate profits (this is the only reason why corporations employ illegal immigrants) and reduce commodity prices for Americans overall. The latter translates not just to direct savings in purchases for individual consumers, it also contributes partly to keeping the lid on inflation, thereby proving more flexibility for the Federal Government to lower interest rates - which in turn allows lower cost home purchases and refinancing. (Of course, I am by no means arguing that illegal immigration is the sole or principal reason for low interest rates in the US - to do so would be laughable! What I am saying is that they contribute a small part to lowering inflation overall.)

The key factor is that they may keep prices low, but they depress wages for legal workers, it says it right there in the headline of the article Mendi8a used for "proof". I don´t remember seeing a huge price drop when the surge of illegal workers first started and they definitely suck out more than they contribute.

I think they are assuming that working for lower wages makes the products cheaper. Unfortunatly I sure don't see it at the store.....the price is ALWAYS going up and with as many illegals as we have here working, it should be alot cheaper than it is. I know my property taxes and such go up constantly as well as insurance ..... so even if there was a slight decrease in product cost, it's more than made up for with higher prices elsewhere.

They don't keep prices low they keep wages low. Just ask employees in the meat packing business how much their wages have dropped in the last 10 years.

I have a source, it is the American dollar. If a company pays its workers less American dollars to produce a product, then won't that product in turn cost less American dollars?

But in reality, the cost difference is very little since most companies keep most of the difference for themselves.

O.k. Even IF someone did gave you 'proof', you wouldn't believe it. You are not expecting one. You don't care even if there is one. You are closed in your own sphere and won't accept anything else but what you believe...

Why are you asking this question then?

Maybe you should look into the company Wal-Mart was paying. They employed underpaid illegal immigrants. . . or maybe the farmers who pay illegal immigrants pennies to work in their pesticide ridden fields.
