No, that's an old wives' tale. After a few days your hair will be greasy and your scalp will start to itch with all the dead skin cells, pollution and oils. It won't smell too nice either. Have you never been to London (or another big city) for the day and noticed how dirty your hair feels when you get home? Even animals know to clean their hair regularly.

Rinsing with hot water opens the pores. Cold water will close them and seal in the protein from shampoo and conditioners. Cold water makes your hair look healthier and shinier. As a matter of fact, cool air makes your hair shinier too (that’s why there is a cool air button on your hair dryer). What the cold water does is that it closes the cuticle which makes the hair stronger and prevents dirt from easily accumulating within your scalp. Basically, the same principle with how it closes the pores of your skin as mentioned above. Stronger hair, of course, prevents hair from being easily pulled out when you are combing, and it helps in slowing down overall hair loss. xoxo Alli aka BestAnswer

No , you will just end up with a really bad odour , your hair produces sebum which is a natural oil and if you don't use shampoo to break down the dirt and oil your hair will just become matted and smelly!!!!

people are right but you have to leave it for nearly two-four weeks before it produces enough natural oils etc to clean its self - between now and then you'd probably be able to get some shampoo

No because if you do not have shampoo than your not washing your hair. Also if you don't wash i your hair is still going to stink,or fall out.

If you leave your hair unwashed, it doesn't wash itself... but then again if you do let it go greasy for a few days, when you finally do wash your hair it looks great apparently...
