yes, pretty much everyone outside my church thinks it's a cult

No. I'm an Episcopalian. We may be kind of peculiar at moments, but we're generally not considered to be a cult, in the derogatory sense of the word.
In the literal sense, though, yes. The word "cult" technically means any group of believers.

Not really. We got roots from the beginning and hold to the doctrine set by the Church Catholic from the first few centuries.
If it's a "cult" - then I'll proudly say it's certainly an OLD cult.

I find that when people use the word cult they are just repeating something they’ve heard. Often they just know it is word that’s used to describe a group negatively, with an inaccurate understanding of your group & often with no clear definition of the word cult.

Any religion that isn't what they believe is a cult.
Muslims believe that Christians are infidels. Hundue believes that all others are mislead and following the devil.
Buddist burn their selves alive, that has to hurt.

My mother who is a pagan believes that I am in a cult because I am Christian and has told me so.

Some people say that because my Christian beliefs don't 100% match their Christian beliefs - I've learned to not even take it as an insult anymore.

It annoys me when people call me satanist because I don't believe in God and I like alot of evil things. Doesn't mean I'm satanist....lol
