If you're in love you follow your heart. Once you're in love it's way too late to start listening to your mind.

Well since I am just coming out of a crappy 5 year relationship, I am going to tell you exactly how it is. Although I'd love to say follow your heart, your heart breaks easily, and your mind is there to protect it. First think: WHY your mind is telling you to leave the person alone? Those same reasons that your mind is telling you no right now will probably be the same reasons your heart will be horribly broken later on down the road. With some people, your heart will probably always say yes, but because of the way they treat you, you might have to go with your mind and say no.

I know its a difficult question, but finally after much experience I have come to understand that when love is true, your heart and your mind are in accord.
If they are in conflict, then something is wrong. Find a quiet place so that you can hear the inner voices of your heart and mind and find out where they disagree. Then you will know the answer. Good luck.

I would personally follow my heart because all your heart does is follow the path your mind has made for you

I was in that situation. I followed my mind. I was in love with a great guy. We dated for a year. I was a divorced mom. My son HATED this guy. He was good to my son, but tried to take on the role of male role-model. Also, this man kept insisting he didn't have time in his life for a serious relationship. I got tired of waiting. I started dating someone else. Funny thing, my son and this new man absolutely adore each other. We've now been married for 3 years!

Please understand that "in love" is not real love. Real love requires a commitment. IN love is just a feeling that may or may not lead to real love and commitment.
If your mind is telling you that you should leave this person alone, then something isn't right and you didn't give details around what isn't right or why you have doubts. When your "in love" doubts are usually a warning sign.

If you feel that you need to leave someone alone, then do it. Use your mind and not you heart. Your heart will overlook the flaws and you'll end up getting hurt.

it depends what the situation is
if there is noo reason you two couldn't be together you mite as well goo for it
but if the person is married or in a relationship and seems happy you should move on or wait till a more appropriate time
or if they don't feel the same you have too deal with it and relise they arn't the person for you
but i hope it is the first one and everything works out good =]

depends on the situation.........i would follow my heart because life is short and you neve want to ask yourself what if...however there reaches a point when you can't do anymore than follow your heart and things are out of your control...the key is to realizing you have done as much as you can for that person....even if that person doesnt respond, you can walk away at least knowing you tried your best

Depends on whether the person is a convicted felon, junkie, gambler, et cetera. In that case, leave them alone. Otherwise, follow your heart.
