Both practice are still prevalent today. Which one do you pick?

The Christian God apparently thought it was ok to obliterate a few cities because he didn't like the behaviour of the populace.

Buddha thought that all life was sacred regardless of how you felt about it personally and decided that his followers should NEVER take a life.

Both practices are still prevalent today. Refusal to destroy life, and obliterating cities because you disagree with the inhabitants.
Which one do YOU pick?

I think that it is not for us to pick or decide what God's law should be!
Muhammed did not encourage stoning. He revealed what God said the punishment should be. In fact, when a certain woman came to him confessing her sin and asked to be stoned, he told her to give birth to the baby and wean it first. So he did show her compassion.
In any case the punishment in Hell is eternal and much, much worse - so I would think that if a person is punished in this world, that would be a lighter punishment. Don't you think so?

Moreover, regarding the cutting off of hands, Muhammed (pbuh) once said something to this effect: "Even if Fathima the daughter of Muhammed (pbuh) (his own beloved daughter) had to commit the crime, he would serve the punishment upon her"
This shows that he was willing to follow the laws of God at all times. Should we not do the same?

You are intentionally ignoring the fact that stoning was implemented in the Old Testament and used by Moses and most of the other Biblical patriarchs.

Also, Jesus never made any change to the biblical laws governing stoning, even the ones for ridiculously minor offenses. He even chastised the Rabbi for not stoning rebellious children.

different human beings and different religions have different concepts about the Marys. It relies upon upon who you ask. some say Mary Magdalene wasn't a prostitute in any respect, that Peter villified her out of jealosy. also, a woman of her age that became no longer married became also labled a whore. some had to because an unmarried lady had no status or potential to feed or look after herself. So only throwing it accessible.

Stoning seems to be the other practice, the other would have to be compassion...? I guess there are times to feel compassion and it never hurts to stone some hookers to death. The world is not only black or white. Everyone has his prize, and hypocrisy may have its hands on you. Be careful when you judge people. There is a task for every Judas, and Peter betrayed his master three times in one night. We are not meant to be perfect.

God destroyed Sodam and Gamora. Two whole cities... much worse than stoning. Don't you agree?
