And, I would also appriciate it if you ask your parents what they think too. (If you still live with them, or they are home/awake.)

So, is your project called, "What Christians think of Wicca and Witchcraft", or does it actually have to do with what Wicca/Witchcraft really is? If it's got something to do with Christians opinions on it you really don't need to ask. They have plenty of intolerant, ignorant, hate filled information on tons of websites and books. If you really want to know about Wicca, then asks Wiccans. Or better yet, do some research on your own and don't depend on others to do your project for you. By asking Christians their "opinion" you most likely aren't going to get any factual information on Wicca. You're going to get exactly what you asked for.....an opinion (which is not fact).

Well, I'm going to be unpopular.

I'm Catholic. I know for a fact that we (Catholics) do not approve of Wicca and Wiccans. I also can tell you from a personal view, that I do not approve of the religion (I have no problem with individual people, but the religion as whole I"m not fond of).

I studdied wicca for five years, have several friends who practice, so when I answer, know that it's not from just a biblical stand point. I"m sure that there are some good people who study Wicca, but I think the religion is alittle screwy.

Until the 1940's or so, there really was no Wicca, then Gerald Gardner started printing his books about his time in a secret coven. Then, in the 1960's, there was the reammergance of Wicca and Nature religions. This also happened in a time of a lot of drugs, which tells you how skeptical I am about it.

Wiccans are supposed to follow a rede of "harm none" but the ones I"ve met off line never did. They did as they pleased and d@mn those who they hurt. I left WIcca and went back to CAtholicism and found a peace I've never known. Everything I had been shown when I studied wicca was hollow. It was a group of people who didn't want concequences. They didn't want some God above them telling them that sleeping around while your wife was home was bad, that stealing was bad, that hurting others was bad and that there was a price to pay. The Goddes I was introduced to was a wimpy pushover who did nothing!

AS I stated earlier, my problem is with the religion. I have no problem with people. I haven't met the best people, and I know my answer will be unpopular because I"m not kowtowing and saying tolerant things, but this is my honest opinion.

You need to be more open minded and ask EVERYONE what they think will happen to Wiccans and people who practice witchcraft if you want anyone to take you seriously. And what will happen when? In the here and now or when they die? I am sure many would gladly give you input for a more complete report.

I am not Wiccan, but I am not a "Christian" either. I can tell you what Christian think. They think that Wiccans are evil sinners. They will say the bible forbids it, and quote verse after verse. They will refuse to admit that some of the traditions we practice today, especially this month, were Pagan in nature, as is Wicca. The will go on and on about spells and magick, but forget to mention that Wicca is a legit religion too.

Be prepared for the burning of the witches to begin, even though this is 2006 and we aren't as ignorant or close minded as we were at Salem.

Oh, this should be interesting. I wonder how many variations of completely incorrect information about Wicca there are here, and how many people believe the negative stereotypes they've been spoon-fed rather than actually learn something about Wicca.

BTW - if you want to include anything in your paper about what Wicca really is (as opposed to the misconceptions that people have about it), feel free to ask - there are several Wiccans here who would be happy to "set the record straight"...

Many Christians don't think of Wiccans and witchcraft. They keep their eyes tightly closed against anything that isn't considered acceptable to their particular branch of Christianity. Their Bible and church traditions say that witchcraft is evil, so they say it's evil. Their minister tells them that Wicca is evil, so it's evil. Good enough for them. Most are too afraid of demonic forces, which they believe to be loose in the world, to even try to understand what Wicca is all about. The important thing is to read your Bible and keep those eyes tightly closed. Nothing can hurt you if you keep those eyes tightly closed.

It doesn't matter what Christians think, what matter is what the bible says about witchcraft. Witchcraft is the same as sorcery. This is considered as being a sin. However it is no difference from the rest of the sins we all commit throughout our life, and there are no different levels of sin. Sin is sin. However, each sin has different consequences. Under God's eyes witchcraft is the same as rebellion and under this type of sin that individual is opening up their soul to spirits of darkness.

It depends. Fanatical christians would call them devil worshippers. I'm a christian and I have a friend who's wiccan and we get along just fine. I neither judge or condemn him for his religious choice nor do I try to force my beliefs onto to him. God gave all of us free choice to make our own decisions, to be with him or against him, to believe or not believe. To be Christ like, one should have tolerance for others even if they don't walk the same path as you do. I do pray for my friend, but our religious choice never gets in the way of our friendship.

As a Christian, I believe that Wiccans and those who practice witchcraft will go to (I know it sounds harsh) hell. I feel bad for them. I hope that helps
