I need to resolve a concern on my new hearing aids before my 30 day trial period ends. At present my volumn is at 95% on my volumn control or knob. At present volumn at this setting is just adequate. I feel that volumn range should be somewhere in the middle which will provide me as I get older and experance more hearing loss?

I agree you need room for deterioration. Dont pay until the retailer sorts this problem out...;

You need to discuss this with your audiologist. If he/she is reputable and knowledgeable, he/she will be able to give you a good explaination/answer.

With most digital and programmable hearing aids, we can "set" the amount of volume available to you (ie, set the range that we will let you control). Just because the VC wheel is turned most of the way up, does not necessarily mean that you are at the limits of the instrument.

I agree, you should not have to be "full on" to get adequate benefit. I usually want a patient to be 1/2 to 2/3 on, so there is room for adjustment either way.

Again, please express your concerns to your audiologist. Remember, you are not just purchasing hearing aids, you are beginning a relationship with a provider you will be working with for many years, so make sure that you are comfortable and that any questions are answered to your satisfaction.
