First of all, saying fu isn't being a man..............
It's good to be the king, but a man is a man is a man, every day of his natural-born life. You bring home the bacon, you take out the trash, and you aim for the middle of the toilet bowl. You play catch with your kids, you pay down your debt, and when that Butterball hits the platter every year in late November, you grab a carving knife and try not to screw things up. Mainly, you make yourself useful. Live a hundred years and you might get your Bogart moment--one flint-eyed squint into danger's face, one shot at playing hero for real. But probably not. Meanwhile, a man's still gotta do what a man's gotta do. So you may as well do it right. Live like it is your last day on earth. How do you want others to remember as? Be honest. Be respectful. Be kind to all. What goes around comes around. God helps those who help themselves. Be the best you can be. Have faith in God and communicate with others.

I have two sons and I am what they call "old school" so I understand your question of "how to be a man." I personally say that just being a person is hard enough. I am very proud of both my boys and my daughter who are all adults now. My oldest son and his wife just had my first grandchild. Now you might think that I'm old, but I'm just old enough to answer this question with some keen points.
The question should no longer be "how to be a man" but how to be a mature person. Be a person with substance, values and morals which are vastly dropping in todays world. Find some ground and stand firm in your beliefs. As the saying goes if you don't stand for something, then you'll fall for anything. And another I like is something like this...A man can make a baby, but it takes a father to nurture the baby to become a good socialist and one day a good provider for his family. The same goes for a woman. Never ask again how to be a man, but rather HOW TO BECOME A MATURE, RELIABLE, RESPONSIBLE and DEPENDABLE ADULT. Not merely for others, but for contentment with yourself.

Treat everyone the way that you wish to be treated. Be able to hold up your head and be proud of who you are. Dont have your eyes looking up to the sky above everyone else. Are you looking for a women's idea of what a man is? My idea of a man is that he should be caring, nice and have integrity.

Take your dress off and put on pants. Stop sucking your thumb and anything similar. Start dating the opposite sex and act like you got a pair.

You have to be born with certain things let's say a bat and two balls then you act according to that. More I could say ( but there are children on here)
