Women can preach. But the Bible does say that a woman should not be in authority over a man.
1 Timothy 2 11 A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. 12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
1 Corinthians 11 3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. Ephesians 5 22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.
1 Corinthians 14 34 The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. 35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church.
I think there are many great women preachers or speakers. Joyce Meyer is wonderful

No, not be a pastor, or pastor a chuch, but they can lead a womens bible study- they just cannot be a pastor, and in charge of a church. That is a man's job.
1 Corinthians 14 is one chapter regarding the role of a woman. And I know in the old days, this is how it was, where as today not so much....But we should talk to our husbands at home about the word of God- I love doing that! And 1 Timothy 2:11 that I saw posted is a great verse to show that women should not be pastoring a church, because that does give them authority over men. They can be in a womens group though and lead that- like bible study as I said.
Oh and Haru, good verses!!

Women should not preach. Now, let me clarify this, women are not to be heads of Churches over men but, many women are given graces by the Holy Spirit that should be used to build up an entire congregation. The gift of Wisdom, understanding, prophesying, healing etc. All of these things should be recognized and praise given to God through Jesus our Lord. They can be related in a certain setting but, not during a Mass or a service.

I don't know what the Bible says about it, seeing as I'm not Christian, nor have I ever read the bible, but I think that women can be just as good as men at preaching. I see nothing wrong as long as the same concept is being given.

I give talks at church..(do you call that preaching?) Only men can hold the Priesthood. You have to have the Priesthood to have the Authority. The Priesthood is not a right, just because you are a man does not mean you automatically have it. God's house is a house of order.

Men and women should preach but men should do the congragation work.
If you meant a person who is like a priest/pastor/minister, pls read: 1 timothy 3....partly says...
1 Timothy 3
1THE SAYING is true and irrefutable: If any man [eagerly] seeks the office of bishop (superintendent, overseer), he desires an excellent task (work).
2Now a bishop (superintendent, overseer) must give no grounds for accusation but must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, circumspect and temperate and self-controlled; [he must be] sensible and well behaved and dignified and lead an orderly (disciplined) life; [he must be] hospitable [showing love for and being a friend to the believers, especially strangers or foreigners, and be] a capable and qualified teacher,
---all men's characteristics

There is one passage in the bible where Paul says that women should be silent in church. I believe that is cultural. We are told (By the same man) that there are no male or female bond or free. That all are equal in the Lord.. I say who ever has a word from the Lord, I want to hear it... Jim

Well Paul speaks against it. But I believe as others do that Paul was speaking to a very small group of women in Ephesus.
The Bible says nothing against women preaching & if you read about Jesus you will understand He came to redeem both, man and woman.

The bible says that women cannot preach or advise men. They must be silent and submit.
They can preach to children, though.
Just not to men.

My mother is an ordained pastor. She and my Dad both are - they were the first married couple to be ordained. In fact, I think Mom's sermons are better than Dad's a lot of the time. Maybe it's because women are more social and can reach out better? Just a thought.
