"Now a man or a woman who is a medium or a spiritist shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones, their bloodguiltiness is upon them" - 27 Leviticus

I guess you will say that jesus said not to. Why did God change his mind? Why dont the jews kill him?

The Law of Moses was given to ancient Israel, which was not only a religion but a nation with a government.

Christianity is not an earthly government. Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world." We Christians are to submit to earthly government insofar as they don't violate godly principles.

Jesus told us to "Love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength" and "Love your neighbor as yourself." John Edward is our neighbor, and we would not be following Jesus Christ if we killed him.

We can pray for him. We can even supernaturally counteract his works, or try to. We cannot physically kill him, nor hate him, nor lie about him.

The Jews don't kill him because this is not ancient Israel. I don't know if he could be tried and convicted in modern Israel, either.

When we Christians try to establish supernatural law into government law with capital punishment, we end up with things like the burning of Joan of Arc, the Spanish Inquisition, and the Salem Witch Trials. Applying the letter of Old Testament law to modern times does not work. "The letter kills, but the spirit gives life."

John Edwards is a christian man who is neither spiritist or spirit medium. That story was started to discredit him because he is the only real threat the Republicans have. He is a Democrat that doesn't believe in abortion or homosexual marriage.
So now there is a campaign to smear him like they did Clinton.
They can't win on their own merits only by lies and intimidations.

The law came by Moses (The Old Covenant).

Truth & Grace by Jesus Christ (The New Covenant).

We aren't under the law of sin and death. We are under the Grace of God.

Why are you asking Christians to kill someone? So, I guess you are of a different spirit than Christianity.

In that text it meant men and women of Israel. God gave the law to Israel not other nations.
As a Christian you are suppose to spread the good news of God's love of all the world dispite our sinful natures and not spout condemnation of peoples actions. So if killing with kindness works maybe he will die.

What if by killing him, you take away the possibility that he might change his mind about what he does? The way I understand it is you don't kill people because they do something you don't like or go against your beliefs. God didn't change His mind, He gives us all choice. God will be the final judge for everyone.

I'm a Christian. I think that charlatan does something vile by preying on grieving people, but I don't have any hate in my heart for the man. I'll leave the judging to God.

Leviticus was a part of the old Law of Moses, which ended with the death of Christ. John Edward is indeed a fraud, but murder is still wrong, regardless.

Because you can't actually live your life that way. It is an outdated book.

If you went around killing people they'd lock you up.
