updating your video driver or graphics driver is quite easy as there are only really 2 makes of graphic card made these days
first check which make og graphic card you have by going start>control panel>display properties>settings>advanced>adapter>you will then see the name of your graphic card,it will be either a.t.i or nvidia,or it mat be a onboard graphics set-up using either intel or s.i.s

once you have downloaded your graphic driver,you must first uninstall your previous display driver by going to control panel>add/remove programs and uninstalling the respective driver,then restart the computer before you install the new driver
the only other advice is that when doing the ati driver(catylyst control center)you need to install the .net framework before you install the ati driver,you can find this on the same page as the ati driver
i recommend updating your graphics drivers every other month to keep up with the new driver updates

Go to the manufacturer's web site, the drivers are there to download.
