I owned a Pomeranian for 5 years & a Yorkie is pretty similar in size! My pom was a very picky eater. But I'd suggest that you feed it dry dog food. And try to look for small bites. Here are some suggestions: Eukanuba® Puppy Small Breed Formula, Iams® Smart Puppy™ Small Breed Formula, Purina Pro Plan Small Breed Formula, or Bil-Jac select dog food. The Purina & Bil-Jac can be found at Petsmart or Petgo. My dog perferred the Bil-Jac b/c it was soft. There is a large variety of dog food out there and you can select types depending on your dog's needs! (Shedding, adult or puppy, weight management). Hope that helped!

Any food free of corn and other cheap fillers, such as wheat, as well as free of by-products and nasty things like 'digest' (AKA poop) would be good. Some examples are: Canidae Canidae Grain-Free Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Wellness Wellness CORE Innova EVO Orijen Taste of the Wild Solid Gold Barking at the Moon Nature's Variety Blue Buffalo Blue Wilderness

I have a yorkie. Great dogs aren't they? Anyway, I feed her Eukanaba. It is the best dog food for all dogs. It is very high in vitamins and minerals. My Sofie is year old and all I have fed her is this dog food. i fees her the one for small breeds and you can give the lamb and rice or the regular flavor. At Petsmart the lamb and rice 8lb bag is $7.99 for puppy. I use the small breed adult maintenance, for a 10lb bag it is $9.99. I also give her their treats, the hard kibbles help keep tartar off their tooth so i have only had to take her to the dentist once and that was for her regular checkup. This food also makes her feces less stinky! So go with eukanuba. You can do more reasearch for yourself at:

My vet, a natural food proponent always suggests you prepare food yourself, put plenty of vegetables and grains 85 to 90 percent.. If that is too much work, you can buy specially prepared organic dog food in pet food stores. What will be missing in those preparations are corn meal, fillers, and artificial flavorings and color.
You can buy frozen fish spine as treats.

If you want your dog to live a longer, healthier life don't buy grocery store brands like Iams, Eukanuba, Purina, Pedigree, etc. All of these big name brands use corn for filler, and have sub-par ingredients. I recommend Innova, Canidae, Wellness, Flint River Ranch, and other holistic brands.

We feed our dogs Innova. Very high quality dog food, but you can't get it at a Petsmart kind of place. Around here, we have a place called Chow Hound that carries this brand.

It's a good quality dog food, but has a price tag to match. Nothing but the best for our babies tho!

Alot of foods are good. Science diet, Iams, Pro Plan, Nutro... make shure you buy one that says small breed, or small chunks. The pieces are smaller and easier to chew.
If your dog has a weak stomache you might have to buy food from the vet.

Wellness dog food. Please do not feed Pedigree or grocery store brands because they are high in bi-products, fats and carbs. If you want something cheap but good try Nutro, but I recommend Wellness.
