Yes, after you check your bag they can put your bag on the ramp for a different plane. I try to carryon if at all possible but I know that is hard to do. At least bring a small bag with some clothes and essentials.

Yes, it is possible although less likely. I flew almost 100 times this year, and my luggage was lost on nonstop flights 2 times (coincidentally, they were the only 2 times I flew United Airlines this year, which is the worst. Usually I fly American Airlines or USAirways). But anyway.... yes it is possible that they will get put on the wrong flight. One time I was flying to Washington DC and my suitcase went to Houston; another time I was going to San Francisco and my suitcase went somewhere else I don't remember.

specific, it particularly is plausible for the bags to wander away no rely what style of flight you have; connecting, nonstop, or direct. sometimes the tags get torn off and the bags would be placed on the incorrect flight and often the bags handlers misinterpret between the airport letters and sends the bag on the incorrect flight. in many situations, as quickly as a criticism is made, the airlines gets your luggage back to you later in the day or the subsequent day. As for myself, I even have in simple terms ever had luggage wander away for the duration of connecting flights. by using fact of this i attempt to fly nonstop as much as plausible. Reckon there's a known time for each thing nonetheless.

definitely..i am an army vet and have flown all over the world and many, many in country flights..maybe through "odds" but my luggage has been misplaced several times on direct flights. your baggage doesnt always get on the same aircraft as you, sometimes its on another plane with less baggage that is destined for the same place as your flight..hope this helps..

Yep, its less likely though. Bag getting on wrong plane, bag getting on no plane, bag not getting off the plane at your destination, bag getting put on another plane at your destination. Bags go through a lot before they get on the plane. It suprises me that so many bags get to where they are supposed to.
