What should you do if you suspect your identity has been stolen? I called Victoria's Secret and they are telling me that I owe over $500 and that they have an address for me in North Carolina (which i don't) I don't know what to do.

Sounds rough.

First call Equifax (800) 525-6285 or one of the other 2 national credit bureaus. Then call all your credit card and debit card companies -tell them to stop all payments. Then file a compliant with both the local police AND the FTC (fed. trade commission.)

This is unfortunate...but if you act quickily, you can limit damage from the theft of your identity. I'll include a website below that may help too.

Good luck.

You'll have to file a report with V. Secret. They will cancel the card and investigate.

Immediately get a FREE credit report at http://www.annualcreditreport.com/. Call all three credit bureaus and request a "fraud alert". They will be able to help you from there.
