i will be using an xbox, ps2,ps3, and a gamecube. as well as dvd viewing from time to time.

Given your situation, I would tell you to take a look at some of the Samsung displays. You didn't mention if you were looking at plasmas or LCDs, but I have installed a good amount of their plasmas models: HP-S4234 and HP-S5053. The models are essentially the same except one is the 42" model and the other is a 50" model. The TV has a wonderful picture and Samsung includes a specific picture preset called "game mode" which automatically calibrates the screen to be best suited for playing video games. It might be worth looking at. Enjoy!

The 42" model retails around $1,599 and the 50" is about $2,499.

I have a Sony 50" widescreen LCD projection with HDTV. It works great with my XBOX 360. The images are crystal clear. Couldn't be happier with the picture.
