The making of false teeth is a science. If they are not perfect they will not stay in. Their is so much technical that goes into making of a denture that works. If you get a denture that only looks good but that's about it, it will be like trying to eat with wooden hands you can pick up somethings but not functional. There is bite, occulsion and all sorts of things that go into the making of a denture. It is also an investment in your life.
I have implants with a prosthesis attached to the implants with screws. The average denture wouldn't be as much as 2 implants and I have 8 on top and 6 on the bottom.

The cost of materials is not expensive, dentures are costly due to the fact that a dentist spends a considerable amount of time in college, along with all people in the medical field of expertise...to make a long story short....it's all about how much MORE money they can charge, the medical, dental field will never become slow...everybody needs them, witch is why everything is so expensive in that field.

They may be cheaper in the long run considering years of dental work. Root canals, caps, implants.etc. It also depends if you pick standard or premium (which make them look more natural), I do agree someone has to pay for luxury cars, homes, country club, vacations. Even with the cost of college they still make a good profit because they know in due time you will need them it is called job security). . And remember their instruments are costly, but once paid for they are only sterilized and used over and over.

Oh. You want the do it yourself kit, do you? The cost of the materials has so very little to do with the cost of making dentures, it doesn't even make sense to talk about it.
What is the scrap value of 2 tons of steel and plastic as compared to the value of a fully assembled car?
