The best adware/spyware remover tool are:
1. Adaware se personal edition(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/)
2. spybot search & destroy.(http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html)
I recommend to install them both and run system scan.

All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free.
AVG Removes I-Worm/Stration · BackDoor.Generic3.GBB and .GBC · Worm/Generic.FX · Exploit.WMF
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5
Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

Ad-Aware is my personal favorite. You can download it at http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1 .
If you're having a lot of trouble with spyware, it might be a good idea to switch to using Mozilla Firefox as your main web browser. It protects your computer far better than Internet Explorer does, and it's free. Here's a link: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

adaware and spybot are both free and they are really good at getting the spyware off. AVG 7.0 is a free antivirus software that is really good for trojans and viruses. just google any of the names and you can find the sites

for my area, i imagine no longer something works more effective than Spybot S&D. even with the undeniable fact that, it somewhat works purely right at the same time as used alongside area Adaware own version. Google it up and also you need to get it. finally, continually keep the definition archives as a lot as date. good luck :-)

Spybot search and destroy, adaware can be found at http://www.download.com
A-squared at http://www.emsisoft.com/en/ works well if a bit slow.
Another useful utility is HiJack this but is quite complex if you don't know what you are doing. http://hijackthis.de has download link and will also analyze the log file it produces to show you what things are. If using this be careful not to remove something necessary
