any one know anything about creating and burning a slideshow?

I'm knew to this but I want to figure it out so I can finish a dvd as a gift for someone.I have went threw all the editing but I am new to slideshows. Everytime I go to burn it, it tells me that it can't find the slideshow player and when I go to burn disk it tells me that I haven't selected anything and I'm not sure what it means exactly.
can anyone plz tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I am not sure what slideshow you want to create?

I guess picture/image slide show:

1. You can use free software like faststone image viewer(http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm)

2. You can use other software like acdsee(not free) which can create ".exe" file so that it can run by itself.
3. You can use autorun picture CD from your cd burning software. usually the best cd burning software is Nero. But it is not free. The free alternative is cdburnerxp pro(http://www.cdburnerxp.se/download.php).

I recommend use your cd burner software to make picture cd. The advantage is that many cd/dvd players can play picture cd and someone even will not need computer. they can play it on TV.
