Research shows that you would have to drive a hybrid for 120,000 miles to reap the benefit of the extra cost. It takes that long to start saving money on gas. To a lot of people a hybrid is a status symbol and they aren't buying it for the gas savings because there isn't a savings if you figure in the origional cost of the car over the same car with a conventional engine.

no. there are a few reasons why. first off the hybrids out now a days grossly overestimate the mpg. example toyota prius the estimated mpg for city/highway is 60/51. whereas in real world driving it is closer to 42.27/42.29, which is good, but if cars such as the vw gti tdi (diesel) can get around 50+ mpg without sacrificing performance then what is the point. so if you love the environment yet still love the performance of a real car then hybrids are a nay.

there is no need to spend so much money for hybrid. New generation of Mercedes-Benz are more environmentally friendly than hybrid cars. For same price you've got the best car in the world: Mercedes. So my answer is no.

no i wouldnt,for several reasons:
i dont have the money to buy one
it cannot fill the needs i have for a vehicle, thats why i own a truck
the supposedly "gained" efficiency,is marginal ( my 2 ton gvw dakota 4x4 gets comparable gas mileage)
lack of parts to repair it if it breaks
earlier all toyota hybrids were recalled due to flaws

Not until they get all the bugs worked out of them and know enough about them to get the cars fixed without paying a hefty price tag.

No, no power to them. How are you going to accelerate into merging traffic with an 18 wheeler up your butt? Plus they are a little too feminine for me.
