If you have been dating for under a year do you think it is silly to mention anything about monthly anniversaries? I think it is cute to just mention "oh hey today is 4 months". Should I be sad if I am always the one to mention this? Should I stop bringing it up at all? (I know.. this is a slightly trivial problem but oh well)

it's not silly.. it's a way of appriciating small things, like the progress both of you have made.. try to talk to him about that and see what he has to say so you'll know why he doesn't do the same thing

Depends on the guy you got, if it's as equally important to him, then by all means bring it up.
If he's not all that interested in it, and really, is there any point to it, then just let it go. It's not about how much time you've been together it's about how that time was when you were together.
If it's really important to you either live with it, him not caring or making a big deal or dump him and find a guy who will be happy to celebrate monthlies.

I always brought it up and just said - hey, four months today!! or whatever, but I never made a HUGE deal out of it or bought a present or anything. Trust me, men think TOTALLY different than women - time means nothing to them - thats why they so often forget anniversaries! Don't take it personal if he doesn't remember, especially monthly anniversaries!

Stop! You are going to make yourself crazy! And you will eventually get up set too. You will begin to say that he just doesn't care, blah, blah, blah. Don't do it to yourself. Just enjoy the moments you are together, and if it lasts a year, and you have to be the one who reminds him you can decide where to send him.

well my boyfriend and i do that just "happy 8 month of w/e" we celebrate half years a little more. although we've been together for 2 yrs and 8months december 29!! but i'm sure gonna tell him and maybe have a lil celebration :)

it is juvenile, and only goes to show how amazed and surprised you are that it has gone this long. wow wee, 4 months!
just aim for yearly reminders, and even then, dont be surprised if the guy forgets, to us, its like every days the same...

my boyfriend and i do that.. we wake up and send each other texts like. HAPPY 5 MONTHS or w/e month it is.. sometimes i forget and i feel bad.. but maybe your boyfriend just forgets
