A while ago I just randomly fainted and while I was out (for ca. 5 sec's) I had this exceptionally clear picture of a man who seemed vaguely familiar. When I came to, my boyfriend was standing over me and I was terrified because I had no idea who he was ( but also vaguely familiar) and I was extremely scared of him (This lasted for ca. 5 more seconds until i realized it was just my boyfriend) I was wondering if it maybe had to do with past trauma (involving this man) or something along those lines. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this and/or maybe done some research on what it means? I am tempted to think it was just random and due to temporary lack of blood in the brain but who knows, maybe I am supposed to be dealing with something involving this man? Could PTSD be an explenation although I never suffer from flashbacks? I am open to ANY suggestions!

Don't listen to people who make light of situations like this. It is entirely possible for this to happen, and when you came to, the image was still on your mind and you were so disoriented that you were uncertain of what you were seeing. The image had been so clear before and your mind could have believed it was still in that state while your body was coming back to consciousness. I wouldn't be too scared of it just yet...just pay close attention to see if it happens again. You might contact your doctor, just to get his/her opinion. Going to the doc never hurts. It could be PTSD, but if you have never experienced problems before (such as depression and anxiety surrounding triggers, etc.) then I would be hesitant to say that it is PTSD. Like I said...don't worry yourself too much over it unless something like it happens again or you start having other problems. In that case, seek medical attention.

Woah, people are going in the wrong direction with this. You probably had a dream. I know it sounds weird but it's happened to me before. You pass out, have a dream (that seems very real) and then you're a little disoriented when you wake up. Don't worry about it unless it happens repeatedly.

I once passed out while giving blood. I had a very vivid dream about being in Paris.. never really been there. So It is possible it was just a dream.
