and cough up clear flem w/some brown in it? Is this normal??? Someone told me that this was normal and that it was my lungs cleaning themselves. Just want to know if it has happened to anyone else and that they are still living!

Yeah, this happened to me, too. It was pretty intense for about a week and then started to lessen gradually. I went to the doctor because I was concerned and she told me the same thing, that it was simply my lungs clearing themselves out. She prescribed me an expectorant and advised me to drink lots of juice as if I were sick.

Sounds normal, get u some vitamin C and eat celery and clean your lungs whether u smoke or not

I quit smoking almost 4 years ago & that happened to me for a couple weeks after I stopped.
I also felt like my throat was clogged all the time.
Pretty gross, but worth it in the end.
Now, if only I could get my hubby to quit...

This same thing happened to me I quit in August and the coughed up yuck only lasted a short time.
