By FDA rule, they will be within 15% equivalency, so there will likely be no difference, though change from one brand to another sometimes can require a small dosage adjustment.

Absolutely, they are the same medication just a different manufacturer. The Synthroid will cost more money than the generic....Results are the same.

Yes you can...My son is hypothyroid and the pharmacy uses the brand they have in stock never any trouble. Why spend extra $$$ on name brand the generic works the same. Best wishes

Yes; the doses aren't different, although there are several brands. The name brands are more expensive and don't have anything in them different than the generics, though.

I actually do not know how you would be able to even switch from a generic drug to a name brand w/o a written prescription from your doctor. Thus, your physician is the one who would make this call.
