Yes. I made a batch in September and ate the last container just yesterday (December 13th). The celery in mine was just fine. It tastes just like it's fresh. Ziploc containers are great because the lids screw on and seal tighter so no freezer burn to worry about.

Good luck with your soup!

Bet you can & it is even better, like many leftovers are. I cook for 2 & to avoid spoilage & to keep celery on hand, I cut it up & freeze it in portions that will work in most recipes. Works very well. Do that with peppers too.

yes it can. Most broth soups (vegetable/chicken, beef + barley ect....) freeze very well. Pureed soups (split pea, some types of potato ect...) also freeze well. The only type of soup I have trouble with are some cream soups. I usually melt a small amount of cream cheese (2oz. per gallon of soup) into them to stablize the soup prior to freezing.

Absolutely!

And there is something about the freezing/thawing cycle that allows the flavors to mellow and become smoother, richer, and 'rounder' if that makes any sense.

Chili, soups, spaghetti sauces, stews are all in this category, so freeze away!

Best wishes!

Sure. We used to do it all the time, just let it cool down before you freeze it, and put it in little plastic bags or tupperware, but leave some room for it to expand.

It's wonderful, espescially in the Winter time.
