What I don't understand about Christianity is that if the God described in the Bible, the one who is the Father of Jesus Christ is the TRUE God and the Truth, then does that mean that all the Buddhists and Muslims and Hindus, etc are going to go to Hell? Like it doesn't make sense. I want so much to believe in God, but there are so many inconsistencies. How can a whole society of believers in their God (Allah, Buddha, Shiva (?)) be WRONG when their religions have been around for thousands of years longer than Christianity. Am I wrong to want to believe that there is one God and he is Jehovah AND Allah AND Buddha but that he is known under different names to different peoples? Will someone please explain this to me? thanks

If there is one right religion, it does not mean that God will send to hell anyone who does not belong to it.

God is infinitely understanding and knows exactly the circumstances of each person.

He will judge on the light that the mind happens to have.

If someone is in error through no fault of his own, God will not fault him for it.

It is only in resisting the truth willingly (when you know where to find it), or bad will in other areas that will condemn one.

Well, let's put it this way -- how many of those religions involve theology that says that man somehow deserves or can earn Heaven? If I'm going to believe in any diety, then mankind and self-worship involving anything that we think we can do to gain that salvation for ourselves, must be set aside. I even find this in certain denominations within Christianity. So I've thrown out the Buddhas, the Allahs, and any other wannabe god.

Ok, first think that the Bible was created by Jews and then Christians so of course it is going to deffend their God. Not, the Bible didn´t appear from heaven so it is written by men in the end.

If you explore other religions deeply you will find that their God and their religion (Muslims, Budhist, etc) is very similar to Christianity, and God, the whole creator, powerful and all is their same God.
Religions were created to put fear on people and control them making them belive that if they didn´t follow a "messenger from God" they will go to hell; so Hell doesn´t even exist.

Just accept whatever other people do to get closer to God, even if their God does not have your Gods name. But Faith in God, whichever God is a good thing for humanity.

Good question. We have to look at ourselves and the rest of humanity to figure this out. God gave Moses the 10 Commandments. These commandments were given to the Israelites to follow and for Jesus to fulfill in word, thought, and deed. God chose to reveal Himself through the Israelites being born by a virgin in the city of Bethlehem to be a light shining in the darkness to draw all men unto Him.

If you examine your own life you can look at the 10 Commandments and see that you and I nor is anyone else perfect. For we break all of these commandments all of the time in either word, thought, or deed. This proves that we sin (miss the mark). We need a redeemer and Jesus is that redeemer. Jesus paid the full price for our sins so that we could enter into eternal life with God. Not only that, but Jesus said that He is God in the flesh. God sacrificed Himself on the cross WILLINGLY. He never had to do that. But He did because He loves you and all of His creation.

The gospel circulates throughout the world. Once the gospel is preached everywhere then the end will come. Everybody has a choice to make about Jesus. You either reject Him or receive Him. To receive Him you must repent and put your trust in Jesus for salvation.

Important to realize that Jesus said that "I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." - John14:6. Jesus claims that He and only He is the truth. Everything else is a lie. And all those lie in deception.

If you want to know God. Than you must search for God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. God tells us that His son is Jesus. Jesus is God and holds the keys to Heaven and Hell.

There's only one God, but different religions serve that God through other things. Like Muslims serve Allah (God) through Mu- hammed and Christians serve God through Jesus. The true way (from Christians point of view is Jesus) and the true way from Muslims point of view is Muhammed. So basically all religions are portraying that theirs is the true way to God. But look around you, Jesus didn't emerge out of nothingness, he came as a man born of virgin Mary (which in all over the world people are now celebrating as Christmas). He did wonders like no other, and most importantly died for your sins and rose from the dead, whom would you say is the true way to God?

But also you have the choice to reject or receive which one you like best, but remember it says in the bible, John 3:36 "Whoever believes in the son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them"

If God created everything, then what has been around longer, God or religion? He has made a way for everyone to know Him. Since we have all messed up and cannot do what it takes to be let off the hook, He has provided the necessary sacrifice to enter into Heaven. Our fine has been paid (the one we cannot afford ourselves). All you have to do is accept it. If you don't accept it, then you can't go. It's as simple as that. So, everyone has been provided the opportunity, not everyone takes it. So, is it that God is unkind or that people are defiant?

Jesus says "I am the ONLY way, TRUTH and LIFE, and no one comes to the Father but through Me" John 14:6

Many of those relegions do not have Jesus as the Saviour of the world...so therefore they are false gods. The God of the Bible, is the only God, besides Him there is no other...

Isaiah 45:6
so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.

And the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ- as He says. Salvation is only through Him. "No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him and I will raise him up on the last day" John 6:44

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

You are failing to differentiate between believing in God or any other name for a higher pwoer and organised religion. It is not Christianity that you have a problem with; it is churches and each religion's interpretation of God and God's word. Although many Christians believe that one must attend church for fellowship and strength of conviction, it is not necessary for you to embrace any religion. All have the same principles and the reat is politics. Talk to God and ask yourself if the directions you are taking would please Him. A personal relationship with God is just that. Personal.

That's a good start. I doubt even an atheist would have a problem with that set of beliefs. But I think if you follow that train of thought, you'll eventually come to the conclusion that they are all, in fact, wrong, and that rather than gods, they're basically dealing with politics and philosophies.

But if not, that works too.
