Ok, I am curious the 3-1-1- rule now with the TSA. Basically, form what I understand, as long as I put all my cosmetics (toothpaste, contact solution, etc) in my CHECKED baggae than I should be fine and don't have to worry about that baggy business they are doing now. Am I correct? I looked on the TSA website and I am a little confused about this

Yes as long as you pack the items in your checked luggage you should be fine. the 3-1-1 rule only applies to your carry on luggage. I would suggest that you make sure your items are packed properly though because your luggage gets tossed around quite a bit and you wouldn't want the items to break and ruin all of your clothes.

Have a great trip!

Yep the 3-1-1 applies for the carry-on luggage. You can put all that stuff in your checked luggage. TSA will search it when you check it in if there be a need. Its fine in your checked because once the TSA has it, you don't have it again until your final destination (hopefully) so you don't have access to those liqiuds to try something funky on the plane.

Right. The 3-1-1 rule applies to carry-on luggage. Any liquids, gels or creams in your check luggage will be fine. Here are our tips: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/travel-security-alert-packing-guide.html

from what I understand, you can put all liquids, gels, cosmetics, etc in your CHECKED luggage, and then obviously you can do away with the "baggy" business...

If you want to bring any of that stuff onto the plane with you, then it has to be in quantities of 3 ounces or less and placed in a quart-size zip-lock bag.

Yes, you can put your toiletries in your checked baggage without any restrictions. But if you don't want to check your baggage for fear of the airline losing it, you can get all of your toiletries in the required travel sizes at http://www.AllTravelSizes.com . They offer free shipping on orders over $20 and even include the required ziploc bag for free with every order.
