I think its "relevant" in the fact of how many people believe a dead Jewish guy is coming back to life; whether it should be is a different story.

Well, as a person dedicated to the field of science, I can argue that in many ways? Science as well is a 'easy way out' to explain what we don't understand.
Every good scientist starts off from the acceptance of the fact that they TRULY don't know everything, and that they may be starting from a flawed point of view. They must question constantly even things their empirical evidence has shown to be "highly likely" to a state of truth...because science demands constant vigalance of the eyes and senses, the constant questioning and joy that comes from accepting the possibility that you CAN be wrong.
In many ways, my work in the sciences is a fairy tale as well. A fair tale aware of itself one that says: "I don't know anything...but I have some damn good ideas."
I think many people of deep faith or spirutality ultimatly come to the same conclusion, that the world is at some level truly unknowable...but that we will try to find some answer and conclusion from it none the less. They recognize that their religion is ultimatly more of a metaphore and a message, a translation for a deeper ultimate truth that cannot yet be grasped by the words of man. Be it the work of Christ, Buddah, or Mohammad, those truly in tune with their faiths recognize that the messages of these 'stories' of the faith are more important than the reality of the stories themselves.
...Remember, the creation of Asops' Fables and other fairy tales weren't just to tell lies or falsehoods. They were meant to tell important lessons and points of view that real life sometimes doesn't show just quite right to our unevolved senses.
So don't be too quick to put humanity up on the high end of evolution, a point of view which doesn't quite rightly fit with Darwins theory in the first place. Rather than pass judgement and brush away, we must question, even question our faiths. For how can a faith that cannot withstand the questioning of a simple man hold up against the questions brough forth by the universe itself?
I think that, in a way, the idea of learning and thinking, is why our stories, our fables, and our religions will last: Because flawed as they may be, they do show a tiny glimmer into a deeper truth, akin to the most fine tuned microscope or keen-eyed observer of the stars.

I'm happy in my belief. Jesus is my friend. The proof is in my heart. I was different before. Now I have peace and joy and love. Why would I want to go back to being as before. I was in no way happy and often felt hopeless. I was always angry. Now I'm only sometimes angry. It is a process and He is still working on me.
I'm sorry that my belief causes you anxiety but I won't change it for you or anyone else. I have the right to believe any thing I want.
Incidentally it is spelled rational.
As to explaining of things we can't understand. The more I know the more I realize that I don't know crap. What exactly do you not understand. What I mean is I don't have all the answers or even know all the questions but I do have the solution and it's always God's love.
Have a Good Day,

Jesus is absolutely relevant today.
We are all sinners.
Jesus' death on the cross was for us so we could be saved from sin and death. Do you need salvation? Then you need Jesus.
There was a time where I did not think any of this personally applied to me and i could have cared less. At 18 I left church and ran as far as I could away. But God is always here. He will tirelessly work to bring our hearts and minds to Himself and open us up to all He can do for us.
Christianity is based on faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind. Jesus was the promised messiah and king prophesied about throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament is the explaination and revelation of His coming and that He will come again.
We put our faith in Jesus Christ that He died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead to cover our sins forever and that we might also overcome sin and death. He will forgive us for our sins and bring us into new life in Christ. We leave our old life of sin behind and walk on in newness of life in Christ.
John 14.6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except by me."
Romans 10.9-11 "9 If you use your mouth to say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. 10 We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we use our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed."
Hope that helps.

I'm actually studying religion in school right now. there was religion before there was Jesus. Judaism was a very important religion especially to the Romans. Judaism existed before Jesus. Christianity started as abranch of Judaism. Then it grew to what it is today. I personally don't follow either religion but I go to school in the US. I don't think that just because you believe in something you're irrational. I believe what I want to believe and you believe what you want to believe. After all that's the basis of ALL religions. :D

Oh yes Jesus is more relevant to our times than ever before because His simple message is the remedy for a world lost in sin and chaos.

Catholism is a fairy tale. It is a man-made religion with man-made rules that are just changed to be more comfortable.
Jesus is not. Jesus is real and living. He resurrected from the dead, he is the Son of God.
A rational person would wonder why people are so faithful to it
The reason is because we know, God assures us, and we experience it.

I have one scripture for you in regards to this question- and it is for believers in Jesus Christ
John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
-Apart from Jesus we can do nothing-- even to the non believers, YES Jesus Christ is needed, He is the meaning of life. This life we live is all about Him...not about man. We SHOULD be living for Jesus! Not ourselves...

If you are not a believer, then no amount of words will convince you about the importance of Jesus. In spite of your lack of belief, the Lord gave you the free will to reject and mock him as you are doing.
