Kidney cancer is the condition.

Make a formal request to the court for an extension for a medical related situation, I.E. potential death without proper treatment. IN theory they are responsible for you because you are in their ward and if you die in prison due to poor medical treatment your family could sue the city, county or state for big bucks.

Hmmm. Trying to kill two birds with one stone eh? Well, it is a violation of the 8th Amendment of the US Const. to deny a person "necessary" medical care while incarcerated. The key word there is "necessary." So the question is - what is necessary for you. Put them on notice once inside. Get tests done and make sure you exercise the right to have a second medical opinion if you don't think the jail house doc is doing everything they can. Just remember, they only have to do what is "necessary" however TREATING Cancer is necessary (I think). You can't let Cancer go untreated for two years. So good luck.

Get your lawyer to file a stay, have your attorney arrange for the jail to arrange you medical care. ( you do get medical care in jail and prison)

In GA for example there is even a medical facility that is a prison, and most prisons have medical wards

That's a toughie. You could do the easiest thing and break another law to insure you spend more time in jail to continue the treatment, but I wonder if it would be something a social worker inside the jail could arrange???

Whatever happens, good luck....

I would have my doctor and lawyer do the work for me,unless you are not telling the truth, whatever the case, your honor is going to give you more time if you do not have a valid reason for not turning yourself in on time, and they do have doctors for criminals, and sick people are in jail.
