The christians here often claim that proof of god can be found "everywhere" and sometimes cite the splendor of nature. Obviously this is not irrefutable proof of a supreme being, for instance when I see a sunset, I appreciate it's beauty without attributing it to a higher power. So is it just in the way one perceives the world? And in that case, is there any hope that people will reconcile their differences and stop daming everyone to hell and claiming that evolution is an evil plot? Just curious.

"So is it just in the way one perceives the world?"

Yes! You've just hit the nail on the head! What we put our focus on is our reality. Consequently, a change in inner focus will change our physical reality. In essence, we are the ultimate creators of our reality.

No. In my humble opinion, there is no means of stopping the damning everyone to hell or claiming that a particular path is the only way to god, simply because the personal perception, the thing being focused on, is creating this result; this mind set.

Ok so you don't attribute a sunset directly to ahigher power. What about the existence of the universe within which that sunset occurs? Did it come into being without a cause? Do you believe in eternal matter? That would violate the foundational principle of causality upon which science rests.

Yes. Studies of perception show that believing is seeing, meaning that we fit our experiences into our worldview.
