Don: Interesting logic there. So if I don't commit a murder but order it ,its okay then? Gee and I always thought the police would arrest you for that.

That is ignorant nonsense. I have been a student of the Bible for over 30 years and the Bible does not condone these things. Jesus taught the whole of the teaching of Scripture hinged on 2 things - To Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Funny, most scholars agree that rape, incest and murder are expressly forbidden by the Bible. Just because the Bible is honest enough to admit that some otherwise good people did some very bad things doesn't mean that the Bible is supporting or advocating what they did. You are misinformed.
----edit------------
Thanks for your suggestion, but I have read the Bible many times, took seminary courses in college as electives, and still take seminary courses for fun on occasion in my spare time. I think that I am somewhat of an amateur bible scholar by now. It is NOT in there.

Interesting note, the reason why most Western countries have historically considered murder, rape and incest to be illegal is because these crimes were assumed to be forbidden by the Bible.
For better or worse (depending on your point of view), U.S. law is based, for the most part, on the English common law, which is based in part on the Justinian Code (Emperor Justinian was the ruler of the Byzantine (Greek Orthodox) Empire -- back then, the head of the church and the head of the state were one and the same).
Irregardless of how you feel about the separation of church and state (a different topic for another day, perhaps), murder, rape and incest, among other tings, are illegal in the U.S. because, historically speaking, Emperor Justinian thought that these acts were unchristian. Where did he get that idea if the Bible taught otherwise? And why don't Christian fundamentalists like the Amish or the Quakers go around raping & murdering if that is what the Bible really teaches? See the hole in your logic?

The Bible does not condone those things. The OT is a historical accounting of the nation of Israel, and the things they did.
Nowhere can you find a single verse that indicates the Bible sanctions any of those things.
Even with David, upon His death God said that David did right in his eyes except for the killing of Uriah the Hitite, Bathsheba's husband. David did not do it, but he issued the order for it to be done, and God has held that against David.

I did not say that it made it OK that he ordered it, I said that God has held it against David.
Looks like you have been into pagan worship and Bible bashing for quite some time. Did you ever believe in God?
Just out of general interest, Did you raise some nice witches and warlocks?

You have to understand that first of all the Bible isnt supposed to be taken literally...second of all, it was written by humans, inspired by God...these humans were talking and thinking like humans BACK THEN talked and thought...so your argument is totally out of context and should be given more thought

Your talking about the old testament, which for Christians is the history of our faith, the new testament is the course we are taught to follow. Jesus, is the example of what we can be, and none of those crimes were commited by him.

Worst one is probably discrimination. Dis against people is the basis that "justifies" all other crimes.

True. However I believe that condemnation of those who are "different" than one is among the worst. Of course Jesus didn't sanction that, but many of his so called "followers" do.
