I think when they are given thought, and are tasteful, they are wonderful. I spent a month designing mine, then had it put on by a tattoo artist at a shop.

I don't think people should just run out on a whim, pick something out of a book after searching for 30 minutes, and have it put on the small of their back, though (that spot is way over-used). Its going to be on you forever... give it some thought!!!

I love tattoos that are original, and tastefully done from a good tattoo artist. I'm not into butterflies, faeries, tribals, anything that every other Dick and Jane have. Not really into cartoon characters, names, or anything of the sort. I love a good back piece and maybe some sleeves. Lower back tattoos are sexy, but too mainstream for me. I like tattoos that when I ask someone about them, they have a story behind it. whether is be about a struggle they went through, or what went into creating this particular tattoo, like how they drew or how the tattoo artist customized it for them. I think its tacky to get a tattoo because its "like SO cute" or because everyone else got one. People need to think long and hard about the tattoos they get, because its something you either cherish or regret for the rest of your life.

I know I'll probably be getting a tattoo sometime. Either a barcode on the back of my neck(Because that would be funny) or a treble cleft on my right wrist. Nothing to big. I do however think tattoos are good in moderation, no tattooing of the entire body is needed.

I love most tattoos. The tattoos I like are the original, one of a kind personal tattoos that reflect the person who's proudly wearing them on their skin.

I hate people who get trend tattoos or do it just because they are 18 and can. I've also never been a fan of kanji, tribal, barbed wire or other highly stereotypical and overplayed tattoos.

I have a few tattoos and I'm going tonight to finish drawing my leg piece and get that started with one of my favorite artists. I'm excited.

I don't like tattoos although I have friends that have them. In the Bible it talks about not making marks in your flesh (Old Testament). I like art, but most tatoos do not improve looks. Usually a tatoo is something fairly impulsive and a lot of people regret them. I knew someone with a lot of tattoos and he was also very irresponsible with money, a symptom of which was the thousands of dollars of 'body art' that he displayed.

If people are books then people with tattoos are books with pictures. I love tattoos, they tell you a lot about a person whether they were a spur of the moment decision or a tribute tattoos tell you a lot about a person.

It's really a personal thing that should be done for just that..not the shock value. I have many, both large and small, and they are addicitive! But it's a part of me, and my personality, and I would never change it.

Anyone who judges based on tattoos is shallow to begin with.

I think some tattoos are okay. But I think it is really gross when people are all covered in them, it makes me want to puke. But I don't like pain, so I will probably never get one.

I'm with Gooter and SaintG on this one. There is a limit and I think they should mean something. It shouldn't just be some trendy thing you do. I have two, plan on getting two, maybe three more, then that's it. No regrets from the current two even though one of them's visible (on my wrist) cause they mean something to me.
