First of all she got certain nutrients by cleaning up after the pups as they do. Her first priority is the pups right now. Let her do her instinctive duties. Put her food/water close enough by to her litter. Some will only leave the nest when absolutely got to potty. Let her come out and let you know.
And she does not need people food. But should be already on a good quality puppy chow to bulk up her nutrition and produce better milk. And when she does go out please provide clean bedding for pups and take away the nasty. First it keeps down odor but also helps keep down chance of skin irritation to pups from wet nasty bedding. Single layer, not where pups could get under and suffocate.
She will let you know if she needs your help. Mother Nature is so smart!

Not much will happen as long as they don't make a habit of it. They might have a little upset tummy or loose stools from changing foods, but that's probably all. It's not a good idea to let them eat each other's food on a regular basis, though. Puppy food is formulated to have a lot of calories that will only put unnecessary weight on an adult dog, while adult dog food may not have all the nutrients that a growing puppy needs. I *do* like the answer above about the young dog wanting to wear make-up and stay out late, though. Good one! :-)

You should always have your pet examined by a vet after having puppies. They need to be checked out to make sure that they are healthy enought to nurse those babies. If it's only been a little while, and she isn't eating, that could just be her. But if it's been more than a day...you want to get to the vet, something could be wrong with her. Those babies depend on nutrition from mommy, and if she's not eating, she can't give them the nutrition that they need. Make sure she's on a puppy food as well.

Sometimes they just won't leave those pups for even a second. If you have tried putting food into her nest, wait for a couple of days. Is it her first litter? She may be a nervous mom. My Cocker had three litters and she got a little more relaxed with each one.

I guess you have already tried to give her treats too. Well if your that worried about her getting malnourished, then give her some people food. Any dog will eat what they aren't supposed to. Stick with meat and rice and she should be fine.

I would try some raw hamburger, cottage cheese and yogurt.
Raw diets are great for nursing moms even if mixed with a little kibble, it will certainly boost her energy levels and help the pups through the milk.
