There are Christians who believe that, however it is not substantiated by the Bible, and therefore what would be called a heresy.

I don't remember receiving a prophecy. That would probably be for the better. Things you are told about the future, tend to change the outcome.
So if I'm told something good will happen, then I will be influenced by this knowledge and act differently than I normally would. And since I did things differently, this " good " will not happen. So I am grateful that God makes it a surprise.
Best wishes.

yes, i believe God can speak to us personally and give us direction for our lives.
I asked Jesus to come into my heart back in June of 1992.
Not long after that I was reading Jeremiah Chap 1 v. 5 where the Lord is speaking to Jeremiah about how He called him to become a prophet even before Jeremiah was born.
Personally, i never though God called me to be a prophet but i did believe he called me to some sort of ministry and here I am today serving as a pastor of a United Methodist Church.
I also read later that month in June of 1992 from Jeremiah Chap 16 v.1 where the Lord told Jeremiah that he "would not take a wife in this place". For Jeremiah it was that place in the land of Israel. He wanted Jeremiah to be persoanlly devoted to the Lord during this time of ministry and prophecy to Israel. Well, on a personal level I felt that the Lord was speaking to me about my hometown. And, it held true for me. I couldn't have bought a date if I had wanted too. There was just no one for me out there. In that time I was doing my studies in college for the ministry and I felt like the Lord wanted my focus on Him during that time.
It wasn't until I went and took my first church in 1997 that i actually found a few girls to date.
But i did not find my wife until 1999. I was in the Church of the Nazarene at the time and another scripture from the book of Numbers about the vow of a Nazarite came to my attention. When a Nazarite took a vow to follow the Lord it was for 7 years.
well, the Jeremiah Chap 16 verses came to me in June 1992 and i did not find my wife until August of 1999. 7 YEARS!
and in that time I had learned much about following and focusing on the Lord without the "distraction" of being in a relationship.
(Not that my wife is a distraction. She is wonderful)
hope that all helps
the scriptures are in front of you to help you hear the Lord
read all you can

Yes, and they are supposed to. The disciples did, Jesus did, saints have, and normal people have.
By the way Mother Theresa started her real ministrey after hearing the audible voice of God, its documented.

Like personal revelation? Yes, absolutely when it's in regards to things that are within our stewardship (meaning myself, and my family). God definitely offers individual direction and guidance in our lives like that.
I, however, wouldn't get a revelation for something I'm not responsible for, like everybody in my church, or nation.

anything is possible with God. and yes, although it's unlikely, it is possible to recieve and a personal visual response to your doings, thoughts, and prayers. not many people get them, but there are plenty of true examples of it in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. and i truly believe.
